What sets KickBay apart

Know who's coming before you ask.

Thirty minutes before kick-off, every coach starts the same round of questions. OnTime answers them before they're asked: in the time window before the event, each player shares their arrival time — automatically, in the background, without a single message.

  • Voluntary and time-limited. Only active in the window around the event, visible only to your own team — switch it off at any time.
  • Status, not location. What you see is the arrival time, not the route there.

From the whiteboard to every player's phone.

Draw line-ups, runs and set pieces right on the tactics board and play the scene back as an animation. Once shared, it reaches everyone who needs it — and on matchday the live ticker and match report carry on in the same flow.

After the final whistle

Type it in once.
Done eight times over.

During the match you record four things in the ticker: goals with assists, cards, substitutions, minute. From those entries come the match report, the top scorer list, every player's season stats, achievements and the team ranking — without lifting another finger.

  • Numbers per player. Appearances, goals, assists, points, yellows and reds, MVP votes and attendance rate — the whole season on one card.
  • Form the way you read it. The last five results as W/D/L, just like in the league table — for your own team and for the next opponent.
  • Reasons to come back. Achievements unlock, the ranking sorts by goals, points, attendance and longest streak. Never miss a session, and everyone can see it.
  • Close the season. At the change of season the numbers go into the archive instead of the bin — the squad starts fresh, the history stays.

A team shares addresses, phone numbers, sick notes and children's data. KickBay handles it the way you'd want: sparingly, encrypted and transparently.

End-to-end in the chat

Messages are encrypted on the device itself. The server only holds gibberish — only your team can read them.

Access only within the team

Server-side security rules check every request: anyone who isn't in the team sees nothing — not even through the back door.

Location only if you want

OnTime is voluntary, time-limited and can be switched off at any time. Without an event, nothing runs in the background.

What coaches want to know first.

Where do I get KickBay?

On the App Store and Google Play — open to everyone, no invitation or activation needed. If you'd like to have a look first, open KickBay at kickbay.web.app in your browser; it's the same account as on your phone.

What does KickBay cost?

KickBay starts out free for teams: no trial that runs out and no limit on squad size. Events, availability, tactics, chat and the team kitty are available to every team.

Which teams is KickBay for?

For football teams in club and recreational play: men's, women's, veterans', youth and casual sides. KickBay is deliberately built for football only instead of twenty sports at once — so line-ups, match reports and squads speak football, not “sport in general”.

What is OnTime?

In the time window before an event, OnTime shows who is arriving when — instead of writing “Where are you?” in the group chat ten times. Sharing is voluntary, time-limited and ends automatically after the event. More on OnTime.

What can the live ticker record?

Goals with scorer and assist, own goals, yellow, second yellow and red — for opposing players too — substitutions with the minute, and free-text updates like “Penalty saved!”. The match clock runs with half-time and stoppage time as 45+X and 90+X; kick-off, half-time and full time appear as separate entries. Does KickBay keep player stats?

Yes. The season numbers build themselves from the live ticker: appearances, goals, assists, yellow and red cards, MVP votes and each player's attendance rate. On top come a form guide, attendance patterns, achievements and a team ranking — without anyone maintaining a spreadsheet. More on statsDE

Can parents reply for their child?

Yes. When joining, you say whether you're a player or a parent. A parent is linked to the child's squad entry and from then on replies for the child, enters absences and sees the events. Several children in one account are possible.

Can training sessions be set up as a series?

Yes. Events can repeat weekly, fortnightly or monthly — Tuesday training is created once and covers the whole series. Individual dates in the series can then be moved or cancelled.

Can I manage the squad on a computer?

Yes. The player list from DFBnet, the German FA's registration system, can be uploaded as a CSV on your computer. Before saving, KickBay shows what's new, what has changed and who's missing. Manage the squad on a PCDE

How secure is the team's data?

The team chat is end-to-end encrypted; the server only stores unreadable data. Server-side rules check every request, so only team members see team data. Access requests, export and account deletion work right in the app. Security details.

Does KickBay run on Android and iPhone?

Yes, on both platforms with the same features. Organisational tasks such as managing the squad or drawing drillsDE can also be done in the browser on a computer.
